Emma Jean Matthews

Emma Jean Matthews, 88, of Glasgow, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Barren County Nursing & Rehab Facility in Glasgow. She was born in Glasgow on April 15, 1933, to the late Andrew Rhoton and Annie Gosnell Rhoton. Emma worked for many years in and around Glasgow as a Cook. She then went on to work at Barren County Nursing Home as a nursing assistant. Mrs. Matthews was loved and will be truly missed by her friends and family. Survivors include a son, Donnie Matthews of Glasgow; sisters, Anna June Watt (Wiley) and Linda Joyce Harrison (Rondal) both of Glasgow; brothers, Ebbert Rhoton of Glasgow, and Ferrell Rhoton of Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Matthews; one son, Ronnie Matthews, and two infant children, Robert & Louise; several brothers and sisters. A Graveside service will be held 1:00pm Friday, December 31st at the Poplar Log Cemetery with burial to follow the service. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00am until 12:30pm at the A.F Crow & Son Funeral Home. A.F. Crow is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Matthews.
