Frances S. Holmes, 91, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at home. She was born November 3, 1929 in Barren County, Kentucky to the late Dewey Steenbergen, Sr. and Edna Hoover Steenbergen. Frances was the owner and operator of the Glasgow Flower Shop for 36 years and was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ. Survivors include, three daughters, Lois Lynn Holmes of Georgetown, Kentucky, Carole Dawn Durham (Terry) of Glasgow Kentucky, Lisa Edmunds (Sammy) of Glasgow, Kentucky; one son, Dr. Scott Holmes of Columbia, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Brandi Riddle (Brandon), Johnathon Houchens (Kelsey), Ryan Durham (Ashley), Taryn Walker (Justin), Ashley Burke, Austin Holmes (Lyndsey), Alex Holmes (Lauren); sixteen great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Tody Steenbergen of Glasgow, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carroll E. Holmes; two sisters, Wanda Self-Curd, Mildred Niemeier; and two brothers, Dewey Steenbergen, Jr. and Jewett Steenbergen. Alternate expressions of sympathy can be made to South Green Street Church of Christ 306 S. Green Street Glagsow, Kentucky 42141. The funeral service for Mrs. Holmes will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 16th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home. For all those who attend, please practice social distancing and wear an appropriate face covering. A. F.
