Mabel Lyons

Mabel Elizabeth Proffitt Lyons 86 of Glasgow died Wednesday night November 30th at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Virgil Caswell Proffitt and Susan Belle Turner Proffitt. Mrs. Lyons was a homemaker and a former employee of J. C. Penny Co. in Glasgow. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Harry L. Lyons; one daughter Sandra Thomas and her husband Guy of Glasgow; two grandchidren Mark Robert Thomas and wife Kimra of Jackson, TN and Susan Beth Dickson and husband Kent of Elsmere, KY. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Stevie Caswell Lyons; one sister Emma Margaret Simmons and three brothers Clarence Ross Proffitt, William Rex Proffitt and Omer Paul Proffitt. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday December 3, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday until time for services at the funeral home.
