Albert Rainey

Albert Holmes Rainey, age 76, departed to his eternal life on July 23, 2015. He was born in Grayson County, Kentucky and was a retired dock worker, a member of the American Legion Post 81 and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Isabell Rainey and two sisters, Nellie Hodge and Reba Matthews. He was the dad of four children, Kay Roberts, Stephanie Lucas, Courtney (David) Smith, and Alan (Tammy) Lucas and the grandfather of 8 children. He is also survived by seven sisters, Edna Pence, Helen Clemons, Margie (Raymond) Duvall, Imogene (Marcus) Harrison, Carolyn Sue Clark, Gail (Felton) Spencer and two brothers, Charles (Margie) Rainey and Paul (Brenda) Rainey. Also surviving are 28 nieces and nephews, 49 great-nieces and 70 great-great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his many friends at Brentwood and Aaronwood Apartments and his little dog, Buddy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Norman Pence and Bro. Richard Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Church of Christ cemetery in Big Clifty, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
