Alfred Lynn Smith, 57, of Washington, IN, formerly of Butler County, passed from this life to the presence of Jesus at his home on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015.Alfred was born on August 26th, 1957 in Butler County to the late Oval B. and Jerlene (Lacefield) Smith. He was self-employed for A and L Smith Painting and a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Washington, IN. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents. Alfred is survived by his wife, Darlene (Patterson) Smith, of 26 years; three sons, Lucas Smith (Amanda) of Clarksville, TN, Mike Lemond of St. Louis, MO and Andy Niece of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Rachael Lemond (Jimmy) of Caneyville; nine grandchildren, Wyatt Smith, Tyler Smith, Baylee Lemond, Blade Lemond, Miriah Lemond, Trey Lemond, Mikey Lemond, Tristan Kimmel and Teagan Pettot; four brothers, Oval Barnett (Beverly), David (Shirley), Roy (Karen) and Charles Smith (Mary) and three sisters, Carolyn Enterkin (Bobby), Reaunetta Hatcher (David) and Lois Higgs. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 6th at 1:00 pm C.S.T at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Charlie Smith and Bro Roy Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Welches Creek (Bob Woodcock) Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday after 3:00 pm C.S.T and Wednesday from 9:00 am C.S.T. until time of service.Obituary written by the family of Alfred Smith.
