Alice Elliott

Alice Lowery Elliott 91 of Glasgow died Sunday August 1, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was the wife for 55 years of the late Joe T. Elliott of Temple Hill. Born in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late James and Mary Morgan Lowery. Mrs. Elliott was a 1931 graduate of Hartford Public High School. She was employed for 14 years by the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. She moved to Kentucky in 1945 and from 1957 to 1978 she was employed by the Farmers Bank of Glasgow where she served as Assistant Vice President & Director of Personnel. Since 1945 she has been a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and a member of the Homemakers of Temple Hill. Survivors include a niece, Mary Lowery of Branford, CT; 4 nieces by marriage, Jane Elliott Evans Goebel and husband Glen of Taylorsville, Ky, Martha Ann Evans Jolly and husband Larry of Glasgow, Ky, Sue Ann Nuckols Lewis and husband Ron of Spring Hill, FL and Carol Ellen Nuckols Roller of Louisville, Ky; 1 nephew by marriage, Bill Evans and wife Pat of Frankfort, Ky. 10 Great Nieces & Nephews also survive. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, James, Morgan, Edward & Henry Lowery and 2 sisters, Margaret Hayes & Agnes Lowery. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Tuesday August 3, 2004 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Glasgow with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday at the Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held Monday Evening at 7:00pm at the Funeral Home.
