Alice Pauline McClellan, 98, of Glasgow, KY departed this earthly realm on Friday, August 30, 2024, while surrounded by loved ones at the Signature HealthCARE Facility in Glasgow, KY. Pauline was born to the late Gilbert and Ada Bridges Smith on June 3, 1926. She married the love of her life, Judson Zonie McClellan, in December 1945, shortly after he returned home from four years serving with the US Army during WWW II in Europe
She was preceded in death by Zonie on June 26,1988 and her son, Garry McClellan, on June 1, 2024. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by four brothers – Robert, Herbert, James, and Joe and four sisters – Mildred Buckley Hamilton, Marie Kinslow Taylor, Jean Stinnet Carbo, and Joyce Childress. Pauline is survived by her two daughters, Loretta Greene (Ed) of New Mexico and Martha Hawks (Doug) of Finney, KY. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Ann Nichols (Willie) of Merry Oaks, KY and one brother, Richard Smith (Jean) of Thorntown, IN. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren that she dearly loved and cherished, Stephanie Greene Lopez, Jason (Anji) Greene, and Brad (Amber) Greene, Casey Hawks, Betsy Hawks Raines, Mickey McClellan (Linda), and Marty McClellan. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Drew and Ella Greene, Cam Raines, Alex Johnson, Cody and Jacob Dubree, Dakota and Destiny McClellan – as well as five great great grandchildren, Luka, Elloise, Addie, JJ, and Addalynn. Pauline worked at Kentucky Pants Company, Sorenson Manufacturing, and the Glasgow Nursing Home.
She was a lifelong member of New Salem Methodist Church in rural Glasgow. She loved to quilt and spent many hours at the Lera B Mitchell Clubhouse laughing, crying and creating beautiful keepsakes that she lavishly gifted to her siblings, children, grandchildren, friends, and anyone else who admired one.
Funeral services for Mrs. McClellan will be held at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, September 5th at 3:00 PM. Burial will be beside her husband in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, from 10:00 AM until time for the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
