Alice Thomas

Anita Young Thomas 82 of Park City, KY died Thursday in Glasgow. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Charles L. and Bernice Moon Young and was the wife of the late Clifton Gayle Thomas who died in 2013. Anita had been employed as an administrator for the Selective Service Organization and later the Social Security Administration. She was a member of Old Zion United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in the church choir. Survivors include her daughter Lisa Elmore and husband Michael Ray of Glasgow, her son Chuck Thomas and wife Glenda of Glasgow; grandchildren Dakota (Mandy) Elmore, Ashton (Jared) Mattingly, Mica Elmore, Brandy (Gary) Ford and Tara Thomas; great grandchildren Blaine Rigsby and Brady Elmore; a brother Marvin (Jean) Young; 3 sisters-in-law Jean Young of Glasgow, Patsy Young of Auburn and Frances Rigsby of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews and her caregivers June Bennett, Lisa Richardson, Teresa Jennings and Brenda Ballard. She was preceded in death by two brothers Joe and Wayne Young and three sisters Ruth Barton, Wanda Young and Helen Young. Funeral services will be 2:00 Sunday, October 11th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4pm until 8pm and Sunday morning until time for services. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Old Zion Cemetery Fund. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
