Aline Smith

Aline Coomer Smith, 87, died peacefully Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the NHC Healthcare Facility. Aline was a lifelong citizen of Cave City. She was known for being a great cook, loved sewing and crafting and watching hummingbirds. She was the daughter of the late Emitt and Anne Lizzie Judd Coomer. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62years Raymond Smith, 4 brothers Cortez Coomer (Olene), C G Coomer, Carter Coomer and Doug Coomer and a sister Norma Jean Kerley. She is survived by a daughter Carol Burchett (Phil) of Bowling Green, KY; a son Steve Smith (Linda) of Fulton, KY; 4 grandsons Brad Coomer of Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Jason Coomer (Sara) of Cave City, Chase Smith of Bowling Green and Tanner Smith of Fort Hood, TX; 3 great grandchildren Mattie, Julia and Hayden Coomer; a brother Harold Coomer (Shirley) of Glasgow; sisters-in-law Donna Coomer, Glenna Coomer, Betty Faye Coomer, Delcie Britt (Bobby), Doris Ward, Jennie Wilson and Shirley Doyle; brothers-in-law James T. Kerley, Buford Smith and J B Smith (Doris Carol) and several nieces and nephews. Aline was a lifelong member of Basil Chapel Baptist Church where she attended regularly till failing health prevented attendance and she then attended church services at NHC on Sundays, when health permitted. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the A. F. Crow Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:30pm Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Flower Fund of Basil Chapel Baptist Church c/o Tim Doyle 50 Green Valley Rd., Glasgow, KY 42141. The family would like to thank all her dear caregivers at NHC, she loved you, your laughter and assistance. Also, Pearl Hurt and daughter Wanda for always being so kind and loving in the room at NHC. Thanks to those that always made a point to visit on a regular basis and assisted in her care in any way these past few years in her home and NHC.
