Allen Tomes

Allen S. Tomes, age 62, of Caneyville passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on March 13, 1950 in Grayson County, the son of Willard Noel and Cuba S. Tomes. He was a residential construction worker. Allen was a member of Beech Grove United Baptist Church. He is survived by his son Chuck Tomes (MyLennia), his daughter Angela Scott (Tommy), a granddaughter Cortney Tomes, 2 grandsons Jared Tomes and Johnny Vaughan, 4 nephews Robbie Embry, Terry Embry, Jerry Embry, and Eddie Tomes, and 3 nieces Robin Hayes, Sherry Duvall, and Sharon Egley. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters Sylvia Embry and Sue Decker. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Howard Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the South Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home for the Allen S.
