Alma Daugherty

Alma Jean (Parks) Daugherty, 90, of Caneyville, passed away Thursday, August 18th, 2016 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, July 31st, 1926 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Claude W. and Mae (Woosley) Parks. Alma worked for the Grayson County Board of Education as the lunch room manager for 42 years. She also attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Caneyville. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Daugherty of Caneyville and Anna L. Daugherty of Indiana; two grandchildren, Gina T. Hammer (Edward) of Glasgow and Eric Todd Burns (Kristy) of Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Amanda T. Cook of Glasgow, Andrew Lee Cook of Leitchfield and Hannah Grace Hammer of Glasgow; three great-great-grandchildren, Chloe Cook, River Lee Cook and Eli Vaughn Cook all of Glasgow and three sisters, Betty Woosley of Caneyville, Hazel Haire of Leitchfield and Minnie Burden of Louisville. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lovell Daugherty and one sister, Sally George.Funeral services will be Sunday, August 21st, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the Caney Creek Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Saturday after 5:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am until time of service.
