Alma (Hack) Embry, 93, of Welchs Creek, passed away Monday, July 24th, 2017 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, January 15th, 1924 in Louisville, the daughter of the late James Walter and Irene (Pryor) Hack. Alma was a member of the Caneyville Church of God of Prophecy. She loved to read and work in her flower and vegetable garden. Alma is survived by her four sons, Robert Adrin Embry (Carolyn) of IN, Jerry Ray Embry (Christine), Donnie Lee Embry and James Henry Embry (Dee Dee) all of Butler County; three daughters, Lavetta Gayle Embry, Darla Ann Roof (Ricky) both of Butler County and Dean Kiper (James) of Caneyville; one sister, Rose Cook of Port Wentworth, GA; one brother, Junior Hack of Leitchfield and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Adrin Embry; two daughters, Juanita Faye Embry and Janice Kay Embry; one son, David Earl Embry and three sisters, Susan Thomas, Hattie Jane Woodcock and Juanita Alford.Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26th at 11:00 am at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Sister Lyresa Ashley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Home Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday after 3:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
