Alma Elizabeth Houchens Jackson 88 of Glasgow died Monday July 17, 2006 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Thomas Houchens and Rossie Spillman Houchens and was the wife of the late Porter Franklin Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a former employee with Handmacher and was a member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters Arlene Lockhart and husband Elwood of Glasgow and Janice Short and husband Roger of BonAyr; 5 sisters Lois Gunell Green, Willodean Davis, Maxine Houchens, Rohena Duvall and Naomi Duvall all of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Chad Lockhart and wife Amanda, Kim Lochart Miller and husband Lamar, Greg Short and Chris Short and wife Pam; 7 great grandchildren Macy Lockhart, Jonah Miller, Allison Short, Lynsey Short, Savanah Jackson, Gabby Short and Dillon Short. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Beulah Crawhorn, Juanita Davidson and Izetta Thompson. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday July 20, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
