Anna Jones

Anna Marian Watson Abell Jones of Gainesville, FL passed on January 27, 2019 at the age of 91. Anna Marian was born February 6, 1927 in Owensboro, KY to Hugh Leland Watson and Frances Delephene Thielen. Anna Marian was preceded in death by her first husband James A. Abell and her second husband P. Junius Jones. She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church and a Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed golf, bridge and volunteer work. Anna Marian is survived by three sons; James W. (Donna) Abell of Owensboro, KY, Hugh B. (Sandy) Abell of Signal Mountain, TN and John R. Abell of Gainesville, FL. Two step-sons, Michael (Jean) Jones of Salem, SC and Rodney Jones of Atlanta, GA. Two grandchildren, Dr. Leslie Abell of Camarillo, CA and Logan Abell of Owensboro, KY. Four step-grandchildren, Courtney Eisel, Stacey Blackburn, Channing Jones and Caroline Jones, and three great grandchildren. A memorial mass was held in Gainesville, FL after her passing. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, April 26, 2019 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro, KY. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home, and again from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arc of Alachua County (Gainesville, FL) or Hospice.
