Ann Velasquez 90 of Glasgow passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 after a short illness. Ann was the daughter of the late Herman R. and Cadis M. Duncan. She was born February 12, 1926 in Blytheville, Arkansas. For several years she worked as bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward in Alamosa, CO. Ann was married to Arthur S. Velasquez who preceded her in death in October of 2004. She worked with her husband as house parents for many foster children over the years and also with him as workers in Central American Missions of Valdosta, GA. She was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ at Eighty Eight. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Charles, Herman "Blue", and Philip Duncan and one grandson Michael Velasquez. Survivors include her sons Arthur E. Velasquez (Linda) of Alamosa, CO and Don Plumley (Sally) of Abilene, TX; two daughters Anndora Smyth (Don) of Austin, KY and Carolyn Wyatt (Danny) of Glasgow, KY; three sisters also survive, Betty McOwen of Memphis, TN, Elaine Comer of Batesville, AR and Linda Cochran of Etowah, AR; 8 grandchildren Mark Velasquez, Matthew Velasquez, Valerie Aymond, Donald "Sonny" Smyth, Jimmy Smyth, Justin Wyatt, Rachel Wyatt and Jane Wyatt Dilley; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law Dora Valdez of Denver, CO and Earlene Duncan of Osceola, AR. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 20th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 4:00 Saturday and continue Sunday morning until time for the service.
