Anthony “Tony” Lee Simmons, 69, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1955 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late James E. Simmons and Emma Beatrice Barbour Simmons. Tony was a Temple Hill Class of 1973 graduate and retired from Lyons Mechanical Services as a welder. In his free time, he enjoyed making knives and piddling with everything and anything. Tony was a lifelong member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Deborah Simmons; three children, Lindsey Jackson (Wade), Lauren Simmons (Shea), and Ty Simmons (Lauren); six grandchildren, Brady, Carter, and Hadley Simmons, Kylee Worley, Ty Jackson, Heidi Jackson; two brothers, Delmer Simmons and Danny Simmons; and one sister, Betty Hopkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, James Robert, Bill, Kenneth, Roger, Leroy, and David Simmons and one sister, Emma Lou Pendygraft.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Barbour Simmons Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mr. Simmons will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 29th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Barbour Simmons Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
