Arthur Hanson 'Art' Gibbons, 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was a son of the late William A. 'Beezie' and Angie Hanson Gibbons. He was a native of Barren County, Kentucky, graduating with the Glasgow High School class of 1973 and later graduated from Bowling Green Business College. He had been employed by UPS in Louisville as an aircraft package handler and previously worked in golf course development. He had been an owner and operator of Scottie Lanes Bowling Alley in Glasgow. He was known for his love of the Glasgow Scottie Band as well as being an avid fan of University of Louisville basketball. Art cherished his family and friends; and, they supported him with his cancer battle; he will be sorely missed. He is survived by his twin sister and her husband, Mary 'Beth' (Gibbons) and Brent Foster of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania; brother and wife, David and Jonnie Gibbons of Anaheim, California; niece Sarah Foster of Washington State and nephew William Foster of Colorado; aunt and uncle Doretha (Hanson) and Charlie Bensenhaver of Louisville, Kentucky and many cousins and friends. He chose cremation. Services and burial in Locust Grove Cemetery, Mammoth Cave, KY will be scheduled at a later date. A. F. Crow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu flowers the family suggests donations to cancer research or the charity of choice.
