Arthur Pence

Arthur L. 'Pete' Pence, age 73 of Leitchfield passed away Monday, January 25th 2016 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born July 29th 1942 in Big Clifty, Kentucky, the son of Richard & Lula Lawson Pence. He was a retired police officer of the Leitchfield Police Department and served as Chief of Police. He is survived by his two children, Melissa Cockriel (Clifton) & Joseph Lane Pence (Lyndie) all of Leitchfield, one brother Robert Pence (Peggy) of Louisville, six grandchildren, Tyler, Colton, Kelsey, Laney, Garrett, & Triniti, one great grandchild, Hadlee, and his lifelong friend and confidant, Jean Pence. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark & Eddie Pence and one sister, Nellie Hart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday (January 29th 2016) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery in Big Clifty. Visitation will be held after 12 noon Thursday (January 28th 2016) and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.
