Arthur Powell

Arthur Wesley Powell 80 of Glasgow died Monday, November 25, 2013 at the NHC Healthcare Facility. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Paul Herbert & Fannie Mae Williams Powell. Mr. Powell was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from R. R. Donnelly. Survivors include two daughters Teresa Martin & husband Jerry 'J. D.' of Glasgow and Tina Garrison & husband Steve of Etoile; a son Bruce Powell & wife Dana of Glasgow; eight grandchildren Dru Martin, Lacey Martin, Jodie Powell, Will Powell, Megan Garrison, William Garrison, Danielle Elmore and Dakota Pierce; a great granddaughter Avery Elmore; two sisters Emma Laura Childress and Jeanette Furlong; a special friend Carol Thomas and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Brent Lee Powell, two sisters Anna Lee & Eula Mae Bartley and a brother Thomas R. Powell. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
