Arthur Velasquez

Arthur S. Velasquez 82 of Austin, KY died Thursday, October 14, 2004 at his residence. Born in Antonito, CO he was the son of the late J. M. & Virginia Rodriguez Velasquez. Mr. Velasquez was of the Church of Christ faith and served as an Elder at South Edmonton Church of Christ in Edmonton, KY and Miges Ave. Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, IN. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Velasquez is survived by his wife Ann Duncan Velasquez; 2 daughters Anndora Smyth & husband Don of Austin, KY and Carolyn Wyatt & husband Danny of Austin, KY; a son Arthur E. Velasquez & wife Linda of Alamosa, CO; 2 Foster sons Don Plumley & wife Sally of Abilene, TX and Ronnie Lynch of Glasgow, KY and several other Foster Children also survive; 7 grandchildren Donald Arthur Smyth & wife Leslie, Jimmy Allen Smyth & wife Penni, Justin Grover Wyatt, Rachel Leighanne Wyatt, Anndora Jane Ballard and husband J. P., Mark Velasquez & Matthew Velasquez; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother Orlando Velasquez of Antonito, CO; 2 sisters Estella Alfaro of Albuquerque, NM and Dora Valdez of Denver, CO. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a grandson Michael S. Velasquez, a brother Vincent Velasquez and 4 sisters Jessie Velasquez, Jeanette Galvez, Josephine Rivera & Virginia Jones. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, October 17, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Saturday at the funeral home.
