Arthur A. Yambor died Friday, February 20, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida, after a sudden illness. He was born on September 8, 1948, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late Stephen Joseph and Margaret Theresa Shurie Yambor. He grew up in Fairmont and graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School in 1966. Arthur was a leading high school basketball player and made All-State in his junior year. He graduated from Fairmont State College in 1970 with a major in Industrial Arts, which he taught for three years in Ft. Myers and Tampa, Florida. He owned and managed Shelton's Nursery and Spas in Brandon, Florida, for the past 32 years. He loved flying and was an excellent pilot. He was a member of Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon since 1972. He was on the Board of Directors for the Lumsden Pointe Homeowners' Association. Arthur was devoted to his wife and children and is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Paula Rae Helm Yambor, of Brandon, Florida; his daughter Dr. Marjorie Lynne Yambor of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and his son, Arthur Andrew Yambor, of Orlando, Florida. Additional survivors include four siblings: brother Steve Yambor and his wife, Connie, of Naples, Florida; brother Michael Yambor of Washington Court House, Ohio; sister Margaret Puderbaugh and her husband, Dr. David Puderbaugh of Morgantown, West Virginia; and sister Dr. Mari Yambor and her husband, Witold Sieradzan, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In addition, Arthur had many devoted nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Helen Tisdale and husband, Larrie, of Punta Gorda, Florida; Nancy Lee Fraser of Franklin, KY; Linda Lou Dugger and husband, John, of Madisonville, KY; and mother- in-law, Marjorie Helm of Austin, KY. Visitation will be held at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow on Thursday, February 26 from 5-8 p.m. The memorial service will be held at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Friday, February 27 at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Flowers should be sent to A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25.
