Barbara Brooks

Barbara Jean Brooks 78 of Glasgow died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Born in Smiths Grove she was the daughter of the late Earl and Beatrice Dodson Coons. She was a former employee of R. R. Donnelley & Sons and attended Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. She is survived by a son Gary Brooks (Marsha) of Maryville, IN; a daughter Karen D. Skolfield of Hixson, TN; 2 grandchildren Rickey (Amanda) Brooks and Bryan Brooks of Glasgow; 3 great grandchildren Nicholas Robins, Dakota Ballard and Makayla Brooks; 3 sisters Earlene Emmert of Clarksville, TN, Patsy Jones (Robert) of South Carolina and Cheryal Brewster of Iowa; 3 brothers Ellis Murrell Coons (Bernice) of Bardstown, Roger Earl Coons (Marsha) and Ricky Coons (Linda) of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband George Bryant Brooks and 2 sisters Naomi Evans and Brenda Coons. Funeral services will be 11am Friday, November 7th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 4pm Thursday.
