Barbara Jo Elmore, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on March 16, 2021. Barbara was a loving grandma and mom to her kids and grandkids, as well as many others. She loved to be with her family. She also loved watching Jeopardy and answering a lot of questions. Barbara was there for her kids and grandkids when they needed her most and comforted them all the way through. She made a lot of friends, like those who she worked with. Barbara was married to Warner Wayne Elmore, whom she loved dearly. She started a family with Wayne, which consisted of three children and seven grandchildren. She took her grandchildren to get heart-shaped pizzas every Valentine's Day, another example of how much she cared for her family. Barbara retired from Metro Safe where she worked as a police, fire, and EMS dispatcher. Barbara is preceded in death by her twin sister, Sandra Wright; brothers, Roger, Ralph, Thomas, James, and Norman Wright; her father, Charity Wright; her mother, Mable Tompkins Wright, and the love of her life, her husband, Warner Wayne Elmore. Barbara is survived by her three children, Thomas Elmore (Jennifer), Candace Byrd (Kevin), and Jessica Steiner (Gregory); grandkids, Katelyn, Makenzie, and Audrey Elmore, Amelia Cook, Ethan Byrd, and Olivia and Riley Steiner; sisters, Freda Simpson, Rebecca Speer, and Linda Lou Bybee; brother, Billy Wright; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM central time, Saturday, March 20th at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM Friday and Saturday morning until time for services at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be flowers or donations to Supporting Heroes in Louisville, KY in memory of Barbara Elmore www.supportingheroes.org All those who wish to honor and remember Ms. Elmore in person at the service must wear a mask or other appropriate facial covering and practice physical distancing for the safety of those in attendance.
