Baskie Jewell 'B. J.' Ward, 81 of Cave City, died Sunday February 1, 2015 at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, KY. Born on June 11, 1933 in the community of Nobob, KY he was the son of the late Rev. Walter Ward and Hettie Miller Ward. B.J. was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army, a lifetime farmer, a heavy machinery operator and a retired employee from Dart Container. He was a member of Basil Chapel United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Doris Smith Ward of Cave City; 1 daughter Melissa Ward Williams (Robbie) of Cave City; 2 granddaughters Heather Williams Streible (Scott) of Cave City and Angela Williams Hayes (Tony) of Glasgow; and three great-grandchildren Lauren Bass, Brayden Bass and Preston Hayes; a brother Conlie Ward (Jean); 3 sisters Mary Jane Hall, Marie Ward, and Devada Smith and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers Shelton Ward, Walter Ward Jr., and Adrian Ward; 3 sisters Cletra Ward, Lois Ward Geralds, and Catherine Ward Nasby. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
