Bessie Jones

Bessie Jewell Britt Jones 79 of Glasgow, KY died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Henry A. and Annie Flowers Britt. Mrs. Jones was a retired state employee having worked for 28 years at the former State Tuberculosis Hospital and the Glasgow State Nursing Facility. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Homemaker's Club and a member of the Peters Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and Pianist. She is survived by her husband Clifton Jones; two daughters Martha Swearingen and husband Jim and Mary Meyer and husband Gene all of Brentwood, TN; four grandchildren: Chris Swearingen (Emilie) of Charleston, SC, Dr. Alissa Swearingen of Phoenix, AZ, Travis Swearingen of Brentwood, TN and Chloe Meyer of San Francisco, CA; a great-grandson Joseph Swearingen of Charleston, SC and a sister. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Stephens and the Rev. Barry Harlow officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Wednesday from 11:00am until time for the service.
