Bette Huffman James Shelley 85 of Glasgow passed away peacefully Friday, January 01, 2016 at NHC Healthcare with her family by her side. Bette was a member of Browder's Chapel Baptist Church in Barren County and was a former employee of Newberry's and Mallory from where she retired 26 years ago. She was born January 3, 1930 in Barren County the daughter of Haden and Edna Branstetter Huffman of Eighty Eight, KY. Bette was preceded in death by her first husband Elmus James and her second husband William Shelley whom she married later in life. Bette is survived by three children Steve James (Beth) of Bowling Green, Janice James of Lexington and Joanna James Harvey (Bob) of Glasgow; her grandchildren Chad James (Kelly) and Josh James (Cara) of Louisville and Brenna and Anna James of Lexington; great-grandchildren include Riley, Jake and Claire James and Amelia Rose and Ethan James all of Louisville; four nieces Ashley Bennett (Jonathan) and Brittany Nelson (Ben) of Nashville, Jessica Connor (Jerry) of Jeffersonville, IN and Joy Comingore (Doug) of New Albany, IN; a nephew Mike Huffman (Shari) of Hebron, KY; and one brother Jerry Huffman (Linda) of Glasgow. She was preceded in death by a brother Jesse Earl Huffman (Opal) of Jeffersonville, IN. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, January 3rd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5pm until 8pm and Sunday morning until time for the service.
