Betty Ellen Harvey

Betty Ellen Sabens Harvey, 91, of Temple Hill, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at her grandson’s home while in hosparus care and battling Alzheimer’s. Betty was born December 27, 1931 in Barren County, Kentucky to the late George Samuel Sabens and Jennie Buckley Sabens. On December 27, 1952, Betty married the late Walter Howard Harvey. She had many jobs in her lifetime including working at T. J. Samson, Sorensen, and later retiring from Eaton. Betty loved her family, flowers, cats, and to watch UK basketball. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Harvey of Hardyville; three grandchildren, Jamie Wood (Elizabeth) of Temple Hill, Doug Wood (Katie) of Cave City, Katy Harvey (fiancé Cade Lowry) of Louisville; seven great grandchildren, Shelby Evans (Casey), T.J. (Abi), Alex (Shelby), Andrew, Kreed, Everly, and Myla Wood; two great great grandchildren, Opal Wood and Cooper Evans; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Harvey of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, David Harvey; one daughter, Brenda Wood; one grandchild, Joe Howard Wood; her siblings, Leroy, Ada, Lillian, Lougene, Mary, James, Roger, and Robert; and son in law, Michael Greer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BRAWA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Harvey will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 6th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery.
