Betty Jean Glover Ellis

Betty Jean Glover Ellis, 87, of Glasgow and Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born September 15, 1935 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky to the late Jimmy Lee Glover and Bessie Otelia Moran Glover. The youngest of eight children, Betty loved staying active and gathering family and friends. Affectionately known as 'Mawgy', she loved talking, storytelling, and never met a stranger. Quilting, knitting, traveling, and Facebooking were only a few of her favorite hobbies. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Mitchell Ellis - and will be lovingly missed by her family - Tony and Angie Ellis, Steven Ellis and Dan Brake; grandkids, Chris and Kellie Ellis, Matthew and Jessica Stevens; five great grandkids, Leah, Riley, Nolan, Palmer and Kinsley; her brother, Bobby Glover; and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation for Mrs. Ellis will be held at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky Friday, January 13th from 2:00 PM EST until 6:00 PM EST with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM EST at the funeral home. On Saturday, January 14th, a visitation will be held at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow, Kentucky from 8:00 AM CST until 1:00 PM CST with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
