Billie Perdue Stockton died March 3, 2005 at age 82, just four days prior to celebrating the 63rd anniversary of her marriage to her beloved husband, Reed D. Stockton. Billie and Reed moved their family to Glasgow in 1953, from their then home of Monticello, Kentucky. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Reeda Greer and Susie (Bennie) Pursley of Glasgow, and Donna Early and Dennis (Jackye) Stockton of Frankfort, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Stockton died at her home Thursday morning, only a month after being diagnosed with a form of Parkinson's disease. The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to your favorite foundation for medical research or charity. Although Mrs. Stockton was primarily a homemaker, she worked for several years at Elmore & Payne Packing Co., and for many years she was the 'friendly face' behind the counter at the concessions stand during Little League games at Gorin Park - many a Glasgow youngster benefited from her generosity. For 27 years Mr.and Mrs. Stockton spent the winter months in Moore Haven, Florida, where fishing and fellowship with friends filled her life. Mrs. Stockton was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church; her love and talent for cooking served her well as a member of the then 'kitchen committee,' and her love of children likewise served her well as a member of the then 'nursery committee.' While in Moore Haven, Billie attended the First Baptist Church of Moore Have. Her parents, James W. and Nancy Perdue of Gap Creek, KY and four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday March 6, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, KY. Visitation will be after 1:00pm Saturday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
