Billy J. McCoy 64 of Glasgow, Kentucky died Friday October 22, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Summer Shade, Kentucky the son of the late Owen E. McCoy and Mary Free McCoy of Glasgow who survives. Mr. McCoy was a farmer for several years and was a former Barren County Deputy Sheriff serving 8 years with Sheriff Gayle Wood and 7 years with Sheriff Barney Jones. More recently he was self employed and owned and operated McCoy Motors and McCoy Motor Speedway. He was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ. In addition to his mother he is survived by two sons Cavey McCoy and wife Angie and Frankie McCoy and wife Melissa both of Glasgow, a daughter Tonia Hardy and husband Josh of Glasgow; 3 grandchildren Will and Charley McCoy and Allie McCoy; 2 brothers Marshall McCoy and wife Joyce of Randolph, KY and Phillip McCoy and wife Grace of Glasgow; 6 sisters Joyce Ennis of Bowling Green, Norma Dial of Glasgow, Freda Duggar of Glasgow, Mary Creech and husband Jim of Murfreesboro, TN, Sylvia Cook and husband Billy of Randolph and Janet Dilley and husband Albert of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addtion to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers Jack and Jerry Murrell McCoy. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday October 25, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 1:00pm Sunday at the Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
