Bobby Kenith McDaniel, Sr. (known by many of his family and friends as "Kenny") was granted relief from his suffering after a battle with cancer on July 19, 2016. A He was surrounded by family and friends in his final days. Bobby's 74 years were filled with love for his family, commitment to his country, and a strong will to face anything life handed him. A Born on September 9, 1941 in Falls of Rough, KY, he was raised in Clarkson, KY and Louisville, KY. After spending one enlistment term in service of his country in the United States Army, Bobby returned to Louisville, KY and learned the trade of automatic transmission repair. Some years later, he and his close friend, Danny Duvall, opened D&M Transmissions in Louisville. A He moved, with his family, to Olaton, KY in August of 1987, and continued in his trade until retiring from Countryside Transmissions in Cromwell, KY. A He spent his years after retirement enjoying his grandchildren, fishing, woodworking, and playing cards at the Grayson County Moose Lodge. Bobby is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Sharon McDaniel; 2 sons, Jason McDaniel of Olaton, KY and Bobby McDaniel, Jr. (Rebecca) of Berea, KY; 5 grandchildren, Thomas 'Tommy' Orr of Louisville, KY and Ashlyn, Christine, James, and William "Cole" McDaniel of Berea, KY; Sister, Suzanne McDaniel of Louisville, KY; and other family and friends. Bobby has been reunited with his brother, William "Bill" McDaniel and parents, William and Emma McDaniel who preceded him in death. We will be celebrating Bobby's life on August 6th, from 12pm till 4pm at the Grayson County Moose Lodge, 289 Alex Drive, Falls of Rough, KY. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY for their care and support of both Bobby and his family during his final days.
