C. G. Coomer

C.G. Coomer, 83, of Glen Allen, VA departed this life Thursday, August 6, 2015 after a short illness. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his death. He was born in Barren County, KY, the son of the late Emit and Ann Judd Coomer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, farmer, builder and retired as a long-time associate of International Dairy Queen. He was an active member of the Glen Allen Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Donna Jo Coomer; his daughter Lisa Dacey (William) of Glen Allen, VA; two granddaughters, Whitney Alexander of Richmond, VA and Lauren Roberts (Clark) of Columbia, SC; one sister Aline Smith of Cave City; two brothers Douglas Coomer (Betty Faye) and Harold Coomer (Shirley), a sister-in-law Glenna Coomer; a brother-in-law James T. Kerley all of Glasgow and a host of loving family members. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cortez Coomer and his wife, Olene and Carter Coomer, a sister Norma Jean Kerley and a brother-in-law Raymond Smith. The family will receive friends and family members at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Glasgow, Friday, August 14, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:30 am with burial in Cave City Cemetery with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
