Carl Eaton

Carl E. Eaton 81 of Austin, KY died Tuesday, July 09, 2013. He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Floyd and Eva Todd Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a farmer and a former school bus driver for the Barren County Schools and was also a Baptist Minister. He loved to sing and had been a member of various gospel quartets. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Marine Corp where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and was a charter member of Combs Lane United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Peggy Keen Eaton; 1 son Barry Eaton and wife Beverly of Austin; 1 daughter Baretta Shirley and husband Eutre of Glasgow; an adopted son Ricky Eaton of Lima, OH; 3 grandsons B.J. Eaton and wife Joann, Chris Wyatt and wife Kattie and Robert Wray all of Glasgow; 5 great grandsons Trey Wyatt, Conner and Ethan Wyatt, Austen Eaton and Mason Wray; 1 sister Nelda Strode and husband Frank of Tracy; 3 step children Tim Keen and wife Larissa, Pam Petty and husband Ray and Tonya Keen all of Scottsville; 4 step-grandchildren Derek Keen, Holly and Derron Petty and Kailey Sanders.and a brother-in-law Doug Ritter of Tracy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Vera Furlong Eaton; a brother Bobby Eaton, a sister Betty Ritter and 4 other siblings who died at a young age. Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11am Friday.
