Carol Canfield

Carol Huizenga Canfield 88 of Glasgow died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the NHC Healthcare facility. Born in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late James S. & Ethel Ferm Lees. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Irvin L. Huizenga, husband of 7 years Albert Leon Canfield, an infant daughter Lyn Alys Huizenga and a granddaughter Michelle Lavaty. Mrs. Canfield was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served as organist and member of the choir. She was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Glasgow Musicale and was one of the founders of Olympia Fields United Methodist Church near Chicago, IL. Survivors include 5 sons Leslie I. Huizenga of Merrillville, IN, David L. Huizenga (Gloria) of Munds Park, AZ, Randall A. Huizenga (Nikki) of Salt Lake City, UT. Cary L. Huizenga (Linda) of Glasgow and Richard J. Canfield (Elaina) of Hudson, FL; 11 grandchildren Kristie Allen (Dustin), Bonnie Huizenga, Cameron Huizenga, Vanessa Lavaty (Scott Adland), Jennifer Smead (Eric), Joshua Dyer, Emily Huizenga, April Huizenga, Lauren Huizenga, Nicholas Sanger and Emily Sanger; 4 great grandchildren Mathew, David, Aliecia and Joshua Allen also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, January 23, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Sunday and 8:00am until 11:00am Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and continue at 12:00pm until time for the service Monday at the church.
