Carroll E. Furlong 71 of Glasgow died Monday July 17, 2006 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. The Barren County native was the son of the late Louis Dow and Lera Scott Furlong. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Glasgow. Mr. Furlong was a former teacher at Temple Hill and Park City Schools where he later served as principal of both schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of several civic and professional organizations. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Powell Furlong of Glasgow; 2 daughters Marla Furlong Stewart and Husband William J. Stewart and Myra Furlong Bishop and husband Bobby D.Bishop all of Glasgow; 1 son Paul F. Furlong and wifeTammi of Glasgow; one grandson Christopher Stewart and wife Amber; 1 granddaughter Emilee Bishop; 2 step granddaughters Nicole and Leslie Spradlin all of Glasgow; 1 step great grandson Landen Houchens; 1 brother Wendell P. Furlong and wife Juda of Glasgow; 3 nephews Todd, Edward and Shane Furlong of Burnside, KY and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday July 21, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home.
