Cecil Barton

Cecil Barton age 95 of Glasgow died Wednesday January 2, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was born June 17, 1912 to Clarence and Gertrude Underwood Barton. He graduated from Glasgow High School and was a life-long farmer. He was aided immeasurably in his farming endeavors by Richard Lee Houchens. He is survived by three grandsons: Wade Barton and wife Terri of Glasgow; John Dotson of Louisville; Robert Dotson of Dallas, TX; one granddaughter Donna Dotson of Glasgow; one great-grandson Wesley Barton of New York, NY; three great-granddaughters Jenna Ruth Barton of Bowling Green, Emily Dotson and Katherine Dotson of Louisville; a sister Louise Korb and daughter Libby of Bowling Green, KY. He is also survived by long-term caregivers Linda Thomas and Louise Arnold. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Frances Barton; a son Wayne Barton and wife Ruth and a daughter Betty Ann Dotson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday January 5, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with entombment at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to The Betty Ann Dotson & Frances Barton Endowment at the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library in Glasgow.
