Charles and Frances Galloway were called to their heavenly home on Thursday, December 5, 2013. They were both 63. Charles and Frances knew each other, literally, their entire lives. Having attended grade school together, they became high school sweethearts and were married on December 24th, 1969. For many years, Frances was a beautician in the Merry Oaks community. She would later be employed by the Barren County Board of Education as a teacher's assistant at Barren Co. High School. Charles, a certified master electrician, worked in maintenance for the Barren County School System for over 20 years. Having recently retired, they both worked tirelessly on the farm they called home their entire lives. They loved farming, horses, and spending time with their beloved grandchildren and they attended Highland Hills Community Church. Charles and Frances are survived by their daughter Amanda Lockhart, her husband Chad Lockhart and their two daughters Macy and Laney Lockhart of Glasgow. Additionally Charles is survived by his mother, Virginia Galloway of Merry Oaks, his sister Beverly Elliott and family of Glasgow, his brother Jay Galloway and family of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Galloway and his great niece Cheyenne Lloyd. Frances is additionally survived by her sister Sharon Britt and family of Cave City, her brother Charlie Sturdivant and family of Park City, a special Aunt Mary Lockhart and Cousin Steve Lockhart of Railton and several nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Sturdivant. They are also survived by their former foreign exchange student, Bernadette Clausen of Germany and their faithful four legged friend, Abby. Joint funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 10th at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center with burial in the Hays Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Family Life Center after 11:00 AM Monday and will continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time for the service. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to: Gi Gi and Poppie Scholarship Fund at South Central Bank to benefit their grandchildren.
