Charles Jewell

Charles Aaron Jewell, 89, passed away Saturday, April 19th, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 30th, 1924 in Grayson County to the late Jack & Alma (Watson) Jewell. He served in the United States Army for 10 years. Charles retired from B.F. Goodrich and was also a member of the Masons. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters, Alice Cottrell, Elizabeth Cherry, Janie Cottrell, Gertrude Coats and Leotta Jewell, 3 brothers, Carl, Harlen and Allen Jewell and 2 grandchildren, Angela Blakley and Phillip Nast. Survivors include his 1 sister, Mary Stevenson (Charles); 2 brothers, Richard Jewell and Edward Jewell (Cathy); his wife, Mary Jewell; 1 son, Lester Jewell; 6 daughters, Zella Ray (Roy) Elaine Bradford, Donna Blakley (James), Kathy Kolle (James), Phyllis Muench (Daniel) and Tammy Allen. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Howard Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Union Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
