Charles Preston Thomas

Charles Preston Thomas 87 of Glasgow, KY died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Cumberland County in the community of Little Renox the son of the late Charlie Curtis Thomas and Grace Pink Young Thomas. He moved from Cumberland County to Barren County in 1943. Mr. Thomas was a charter member of the Glasgow Bible Church but faithfully attended Dover Missionary Baptist Church. He was saved in October of 1970. He retired from SKF and was a life-long farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Elizabeth Cox Thomas, 3 brothers William, Jimmy, and Ed Thomas, 2 sisters Vallie Vincent and Bessie Stull. Survivors include a daughter Fannie Wood and husband Ronnie Earl of Glasgow; 2 granddaughters Kellie Uhlenhake and husband Kyle of Glasgow, and Emilie Dickson and husband Wesley of Glasgow; 2 great grandsons Thomas and Luke Dickson; 2 brother in laws Billy Cox (Abby) of Indiana, Don Cox (Lou) of Glasgow, and 1 sister in law Lucille Short of Indiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive; 4 dedicated caregivers Valerie Mesker, Kathy Locke, Mark Thomas, and Jackie Smith. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 8th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday.
