Charley Dee Smith

Charley Dee Smith, 84, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. He was born November 1, 1936, in Coral Hill, Kentucky to the late Dee Smith and Ines James Smith. Charley retired from SKF after working over 30 years and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Smith attended Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include, his wife of 23 years, Vola Louise Smith; one son, Larry Smith; two grandchildren, Nikki, and Samantha; two great-grandchildren; two nieces, Edna Monroe (Jimmy) of Louisville, Kentucky and Rachel Merrick of Columbus, Indiana; four stepsons, Jeff Read, Donald Read, Todd Read, John Read; seven step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Ann Smith; one brother, Bill Smith; one sister, Gertrude Gillock; and one nephew, William Earl Smith. The funeral service for Mr. Smith will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 23rd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military Honors provided by the DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A. F.
