Charlie J. Perkins 86 of Glasgow died Tuesday February 1, 2011 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. He was born at Slick Rock, KY the son of the late Buford and Ina Pearl Bunch Perkins. Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a farmer and retired rural mail carrier. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and former song leader and served as the church clerk for 57 years. Survivors include his wife Norma Pedigo Perkins; 1 son David Perkins of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Dustin Perkins and Summer Perkins Childress and husband Chris; 1 great granddaughter Emersyn Childress; 1 brother Howard Perkins and wife Evelyn of Glasgow; 1 sister Alyne Hodges of Coalfax, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Homer Perkins and two sisters Hazel Grider and Nettie Whitlow. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday February 5, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4:00 PM Friday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Cole Wilson, 5657 Edmonton Rd., Glasgow, KY 42141.
