Charlotte Zona 'Coogie' Grissom, 93, of Glasgow and a recent resident of Louisville, died Friday, May 1, 2015 in Louisville. She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Alvis and Sally Maude McWhittier Vaughn. 'Coogie' was a homemaker and at one time had been a dental assistant for Dr. Mayfield in Glasgow. She loved playing Bridge and had been very active in bridge clubs in Glasgow as well as while residing in Louisville. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Glasgow. Survivors include her son, Dr. Terry Vaughn Grissom of Fernandina Beach, FL; her daughter Sally Grissom Coleff (Nicholas) of Louisville; a grandson Mark Scott Vaughn Grissom of Girdwood, AK and two nephews Joe Barry Simmons of Glasgow and Richard Smith Vaughn, Jr. of California. She was preceded in death by her husband William H. 'Tubby' Grissom, a brother Billy Vaughn, two sisters Grace Simmons and Inez Biggers and a nephew Bobby Biggers. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, May 6th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday beginning at 5pm.
