Chester Bennett

Chester M. Bennett 67 of Glasgow gained his angel wings surrounded by his loving family at his home, Sunday November 2, 2014. He was born the son of the late Riley Bennett and Leoner Blaydes Bennett and was raised in Adair County marrying his sweetheart, Betty Smith on September 3, 1966. He served in the US Army during Vietnam War. Chester retired after 32 years from SKF, Inc. He attended Glasgow Wesleyan Church. Leaving behind to cherish his legacy is his beloved wife and best friend of 48years, Betty of Glasgow; a loving and devoted daughter Shannon Garcia (Manuel) of Glasgow; One grandson whom was his pride and joy 'Tootle' Cody Lucas of Glasgow; also surviving is Catherine Sanders of Springfield, TN whom he told everyone was his adopted daughter; 3 brothers Coy Bennett (Carol), Carol Wayne Bennett & Raymond Bennett all of Columbia, KY; 4 sisters Earline Mays (Glen) of Lebanon, TN, Mayrine Gill (Alvin) of Nicholasville, KY, Louise Rainwater & Rosie Bennett of Columbia, KY; Several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family also survive. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Lennis & Ray Bennett. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday November 6, 2014 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
