Chloe Pitcock Green passed away peacefully on January 22 in Indianapolis. She was born to Virgil and Maggie Pitcock on January 16, 1920, in Monroe County, Ky and lived there until moving to Indianapolis in the late 40's. After retiring from Western Electric in 1980 as group leader, she moved to Naples, Florida, returning each summer to her home on the Ohio River in Madison, Indiana. In 2004 she returned to Indianapolis Chloe was as active in retirement as she was in employment and lived life to its absolute fullest, finding joy in traveling, golfing, bowling, and as volunteer and past secretary of the Naples chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis awarded her a service commendation for the many hours she spent volunteering at the hospital. Chloe P's strength, humors of life, and enthusiasm for living were unique and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Max Riley. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Carroll, five grandchildren (Darla Deaton, Ken Linville, Lynette Linville, Gary Riley, Michelle Welch), and six great-grandchildren (Shellie Deaton, Mike Deaton, Zoe Ruiz, and Courtney, Samantha, and Laura Welch). Funeral services will be Sunday, January 25, at 1 p.m. at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Indianapolis Humane Society.
