Christine Nell Traylor Cloyd, 91, of Glasgow, KY., passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012, at NHC Healthcare where she was attentively and lovingly cared for by a host off caregivers who were truly angels of mercy. She was born August 16, 1921, and was the eldest child of the late Carter Gates and Gladwyn Froedge Traylor and the sister of the late Elvin Leon and Melvin Alfred Traylor and Ruth Traylor Bratley Patterson. She was a 1939 graduate of Glasgow Hish School after which she attended Lois Glyn Beauty School in Bowling Green where she was elected 'Miss Lois Glyn'. She eventually owned her own beauty shop on the south side of the Glasgow Square. In 1948 she married William Bernard Cloyd and they enjoyed thrity-seven years together before he preceded her in death in 1985. Chris, or Chrissy, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, had a warm and friendly personality and a loving heart. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church who, along with two others, holds the distinction of having the longest continuous membership. She loved to bowl and was an avid bridge player, holding a master's designation. She taught many people to play and belonged to five bridge clubs at one time. Her family was very dear to her and she leaves many members to mourn her passing, including a devoted sister, Maude Traylor Isenberg and husband, Doug, a sister-in-law, Wilella Cloyd Scott, nieces, Linda Bartley Branstetter (Steve)of Summer Shade, Kaye Bartley Cardwell, (Kenny) of Bowling Green, Ellen Gates Isenberg Bunch (Jeff) of Franklin, Judy Scott, widow of Calvin Scott, Michelle Scott England (Charles), Diane Elmore Brownfield (Gary), Rebecca Elmore Button (Dan), all of Glasgow, and Clarice McCorkle (Jimmy),of Bonnieville, and nephews,Samuel Barrett Isenberg, Jeff Scott (Teresa) and Gary Scott (Diane), all of Glasgow, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, from 3:30 until 8:00 PM at A. F. Crow and Son Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday From 9:00 until time for services at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 500 South Green Street, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the church.
