Clarence “Michael” Clay, 73, of Glasgow, left this earth on June 1, 2024 at NHC Healthcare surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 21, 1950, in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Clarence Clay and Donna Jean Williams Clay. Michael was a 1968 graduate from Pritchard High School in Grayson, Kentucky. Michael retired from Mallory Capacitor after 22 years of service and then continued to work for Kingsford Manufacturing for 10 years before fully retiring. Michael loved to fish, hunt, and target shoot. He loved to watch UK basketball, Nascar, and old westerns. Michael’s favorite thing was his family and spending his time enjoying them. He loved his wife Angela of 47 years, his sons, and his grandchildren more than anything.
Michael is survived by his wife Angela; two sons, John Clay ( Cheryl) of Munfordville and Chris Clay (Duchie) of Jamestown; grandchildren, Whitney Watkins, McKenzie Clay, Connor Clay; great grandchildren, Juliet Saldana, Aden Watkins; step grandchildren, Derek Reynolds, Kristopher Reynolds, Jordon Helm, Jansen Reader, Regan Helm; step great grandchild, Rollins Reader; sister, Brenda Fraley (Joe) of Ashland, Kentucky; two brothers, Jerry Clay (Audrey) of Grayson, Kentucky and Rick Clay of Ashland, Kentucky; his forever fur friend, Romeo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Clay and Danny Clay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Norton’s Children Hospital or a charity of your choice.
The funeral service for Michael will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 5th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
