David Britt

David Arnold Britt, 81, of Smiths Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, on Tuesday June 11, 2019. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Jesse Britt and Treva Alice Jones Britt. Mr. Britt was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a custodian at Red Cross Elementary School for many years and he was a member of Shiloh General Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 39 years. Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Phillippi (Barry) of Smiths Grove and Amanda Elrod (Jason) of Oakland; two grandsons, Trey Wyatt and Seth Elrod; one sister, Betty Glass of Sparta, TN; eight brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Littrell (Margie), Sandra Smith (Gary), Freida Littrell, Velma Hood, Patricia Beckham (Kenneth Ray), Kenny Littrell (Kathy), Sheila Beckham (Tommy), Debbie Howard (Jackie); several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Arnetta Littrell Britt; two sons, Barry and infant twin Larry. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 15th at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm till 8:00pm and on Saturday until time for services at the funeral home.
