Dena Smithson

Dena Shaw Smithson 85 of Louisville and formerly of Barren County died Sunday December 25, 2011 at St. Mary's Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. She was the daughter of the late William Odell Shaw and Vada Cherry Shaw. Her husband was the late Joseph 'Jack' Smithson. Mrs. Smithson was a former seamstress with Handmacher in Glasgow and Derby Cap in Louisville. She attended the Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother Franklin Shaw (Janie) of Glasgow; a sister Cherry Knott of Louisville; a daughter-in-law Peggy Goode of Louisville; 4 grandchildren Stacy Goode, Stephanie Cissell, Christina Goode and Bobby Peters and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Larry Rhea Goode and a sister Doris Watson. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30am until time for the service.
