Dewell Parker

D. E. Sam Parker 91 of Franklin, KY formerly of Glasgow died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his residence. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Frank and Lizzie Baldock Parker and the husband of the late Wilma Olene Coons Parker. Mr. Parker was an Army veteran of WWII and retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include 1 daughter Clara Annette Pickett and husband Carl of Louisville; 2 sons Elmer Leroy Parker and wife Shelia of Franklin, KY, Jessie Wayne Parker and wife Lois of Scottsville, KY; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters and 1 grandchild Christopher Wayne Parker. Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held 2PM Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial with military rites provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be 2PM until 8PM on Saturday at the funeral home and on Sunday until time for service.
