Dewitt Mudd

Dewitt Mudd, age 83, of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Sunday, May 29th, 1932 in Grayson County, the son of the late Amos and Etta (Elder) Mudd. Dewitt was a member of the Wilson United Baptist Church on Terry Higgs Road in Caneyville. He was a retired truck driver for Otis Bryant & Son Feed Mill. He was an avid UK basketball and NASCAR fan. Dewitt is survived by his wife of 65 years, Earlene Mudd; three daughters, Marilyn Templeman (Glenn) of Caneyville, Sandy Edwards (Jerry) of Olaton and Tina Shepherd (Eddie) of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by eight brothers, Hurbert, S.V., Thurman, Jim, Floyd, Ira, Amos Jr and Russell Mudd and three sisters, Audrey Preston, Gertrude Hack and Wilma Durbin. Funeral services were Friday April 8th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Wilson United Baptist Church on Terry Higgs Road in Caneyville. Bro Erik Franklin officiated. Burial was in the Wilson United Baptist Church Cemetery.Friends could call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday after 11:00 am and Friday from 9:00 am until time of service at the Wilson United Baptist Church on Terry Higgs Road.
